Job summary

The Pequannock Township School District is seeking Substitute Custodians for the night shift. Under supervision, you will handle daily custodial duties, responding to direction from the building administration.

Candidates must possess a high school diploma or G.E.D. and pass a criminal background check. A valid driver's license is required, with a preference for a Black Seal License.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or general equivalency diploma (G.E.D.) is required.
• Must pass a criminal history background check.
• Must provide proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily custodial duties as assigned by the Supervisor of Building and Grounds.
• Follow direction from the Head Custodian and Principal.
• Perform specific cleaning duties along with other assigned tasks.

SUBSTITUTE CUSTODIANS – NIGHT SHIFT – DISTRICT‑WIDE

Under supervision of the Supervisor of Building and Grounds, Principal, and direction from the Head Custodian, complete daily custodial duties and responsibilities for the Pequannock Township School District. All custodians are expected to have the ability to successfully accomplish all of the key duties listed in the job description. Specific duties and responsibilities of a day (1st shift) and night (2nd shift) custodian will be assigned by Supervisor of Building and Grounds in coordination with the Building Principal/Administrator and Head Custodian.

SKILL IN:

• Cleaning methods and procedures
• Knowledge of plant operation and maintenance
• Heating and ventilation
• Proper handling of hazardous waste materials
• Other cleaning duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Possession of a High School diploma or general equivalency diploma (G.E.D.). Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.

LICENSES:

Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record. Black Seal License preferred.
