Job summary

Unalaska City School District is seeking a substitute custodian to provide a safe, clean and efficient learning environment for students. The role involves daily cleaning of restrooms, classrooms and common areas, plus snow removal and on-site presence as required by the Site Administrator.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, good physical condition, and the ability to work in a cross-cultural, rural Alaskan setting.

Responsibilities

• Scrub, clean and disinfect restrooms and locker rooms and clean all sanitary fixtures and drinking fountains daily.
• Sweep or vacuum classrooms, dust furniture, and clean all chalk boards daily.
• Clean halls after school, and during the day if required.
• Keep buildings and premises neat and clean at all times.
• Shovel, plow, and/or sand walkways and steps as needed.
• Remain on school premises during school hours and during non-school hours when authorized by Site Administrator.
• Report damage to school property immediately to the Site Administrator.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Duties:	1. Scrub, clean and disinfect restrooms and locker rooms and clean all sanitary fixtures and drinking fountains daily. 2. Sweep or vacuum classrooms, dust furniture, and clean all chalk boards daily. 3. Clean halls after school, and during the day if required. 4. Keeps buildings and premises, including sidewalks, driveways, play areas, and grounds neat and clean at all times. 5. Shovel, plow, and/or sand walkways and steps as needed. 6. Remains on the school premises during school hours and during non-school hours when the use of the building has been authorized and his/her attendance is required by the Site Administrator. 7. Reports any damage to school property immediately to the Site Administrator. 8. Performs other duties as assigned.
