Job summary

Unalaska City School District is looking for a substitute worker to provide students with a clean and safe learning environment. Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect restrooms and locker rooms.
• Sweep or vacuum classrooms, dust furniture, and clean chalkboards.
• Maintain cleanliness of school premises, including sidewalks and play areas.
• Shovel, plow, and/or sand walkways as necessary.
• Report any damage to the Site Administrator.

On a substitute basis, provide students with a safe, clean and efficient place in which to learn, play and develop.

Qualifications

• 1. High School Diploma or GED.
• 2. Good physical condition.
• 3. Valid Alaska Driver’s License preferred.
• 4. Ability to live and work in a cross-cultural, rural Alaskan environment.
• 5. Ability to carry out the duties described below.

Duties

• 1. Scrub, clean and disinfect restrooms and locker rooms and clean all sanitary fixtures and drinking fountains daily.
• 2. Sweep or vacuum classrooms, dust furniture, and clean all chalk boards daily.
• 3. Clean halls after school, and during the day if required.
• 4. Keeps buildings and premises, including sidewalks, driveways, play areas, and grounds neat and clean at all times.
• 5. Shovel, plow, and/or sand walkways and steps as needed.
• 6. Remains on the school premises during school hours and during non-school hours when the use of the building has been authorized and his/her attendance is required by the Site Administrator.
• 7. Reports any damage to school property immediately to the Site Administrator.
• 8. Performs other duties as assigned.
