Job summary

Unalaska City School District is seeking a dedicated substitute custodian to maintain a safe, clean and efficient learning environment for students in our schools.

The role involves cleaning restrooms and classrooms, maintaining halls, and assisting the Site Administrator as needed in a cross-cultural, rural Alaskan setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Good physical condition.
• Valid Alaska Driver’s License preferred.
• Ability to live and work in a cross-cultural, rural Alaskan environment.
• Ability to carry out the duties described below.

Responsibilities

• Scrub, clean and disinfect restrooms and locker rooms and clean all sanitary fixtures and drinking fountains daily.
• Sweep or vacuum classrooms, dust furniture, and clean all chalk boards daily.
• Clean halls after school, and during the day if required.
• Keeps buildings and premises, including sidewalks, driveways, play areas, and grounds neat and clean at all times.
• Shovel, plow, and/or sand walkways and steps as needed.
• Remains on the school premises during school hours and during non-school hours when the use of the building has been authorized and his/her attendance is required by the Site Administrator.
• Reports any damage to school property immediately to the Site Administrator.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
