Job summary

Washington County Schools (TN) is seeking a School Nutrition Substitute Cook to support the District's food service program. You will help prepare meals, follow nutrition guidelines, and ensure a safe, clean kitchen environment.

This role involves operating the district's POS cash system, maintaining inventory, and assisting with dishwashing and sanitation. Prior kitchen experience is preferred but not required; training may be provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred or related field experience.
• Experience or certified training in a school or commercial kitchen preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food according to nutrition guidelines.
• Cleaning equipment according to sanitation guidelines.
• Operation of a commercial dishwasher and other commercial grade kitchen equipment, according to food sanitation and preparation guidelines.
• Maintaining inventory and stock.
• Identify reimbursement student meals.
• Operating our point of sale cash register system.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervision.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following, on as needed basis:

• Prepare and serve food according to nutrition guidelines.
• Cleaning equipment according to sanitation guidelines.
• Operation of a commercial dishwasher and other commercial grade kitchen equipment, according to food sanitation and preparation guidelines.
• Maintaining inventory and stock.
• Identify reimbursement student meals.
• Operating our point of sale cash register system.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervision.
