Title: Sub/Cook
Position Purpose
Under the direct supervision of the Food Service Director, to assist in maintaining an orderly and safe atmosphere in the cafeteria, and in other designated locations by helping and supervising students at mealtime in accordance with Board policy and established district procedures.
Hours per building sites will vary. Starting pay is $14/hour.
Essential Functions
- Will be asked to fill in as needed to serve lunch but could be asked to work in other areas of the kitchen such as, dish room, prep area, stock room, etc.
- Reports to Food Service Director regarding infractions, safety concerns, injuries, or other issues involving students.

- Works in standard school environment and in outdoor weather.

- In this fast‑paced and changing environment, applicants must have strong front‑of‑house customer service skills, the ability to multitask, work as a team member, be on their feet for extended periods, and lift 30 lbs.
Qualifications Profile
Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:
Certification/License
- Motor Vehicle Operator's (DMV) License or ability to provide own transportation.
Experience
- Successful prior experience working as a lunch or food service aide, preferably in a school district or with children.
