Job summary

Mountain View Academy in Denver, CO is seeking an Infant- Preschool Floater to join our early childhood team as a Substitute/Assistant Teacher. This part-time - as needed role supports lead teachers, ages Birth-5 years, with a focus on play-based, developmentally appropriate activities.

Qualifications

• Must hold at least a Level 2 credential in PDIS (ECE coursework or relevant degree).
• Experience working with young children in center, home, or informal setting.
• Warm, patient, and playful personality; belief in child-led learning.
• Must meet state licensing requirements and be eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Support lead teachers in planning and implementing play-based, developmentally appropriate activities.
• Supervise and engage with children during free play, group time, outdoor play, and routines.
• Promote children's social and emotional development through modeling, guidance, and encouragement.
• Assist with daily routines such as snack, diapering/toileting, and cleanup.
• Maintain a safe, tidy, and nurturing classroom environment.
• Communicate positively with children, families, and team members.

Are you passionate about early childhood education and eager to make a difference in young children's lives? Mountain View Academy is seeking a dedicated, passionate full-time assistant teacher to join our supportive team.

At Mountain View Academy, we believe in collaborative learning environments inspired by Reggio Emilia. Our classrooms feature 3-teacher teams, ensuring ample support and personalized attention for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years. As an Assistant Teacher, you will work alongside an assistant teacher and a lead teacher, contributing and helping plan to facilitate a nurturing and stimulating environment. Our school is open year-round with operating hours of Monday-Friday 7:30AM-5:30PM.

Your Role

As a Substitute you’ll support lead teachers in creating a playful, safe, and engaging environment for children ages Birth-5 years old. You’ll build positive relationships, foster independence, and encourage exploration through open-ended materials, nature, storytelling, music, movement, and more.
