Job summary

Job description

Salary: $16.50 per hour, Part-Time/Sub, nonexempt

We are seeking dedicated and adaptable Early Childhood Substitute Teachers to support our educational team in providing a nurturing and engaging learning environment for young children. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for early childhood education, with the ability to seamlessly step into classroom settings and maintain continuity in instruction. As a Substitute Teacher, you will be responsible for assisting with the administration of lesson plans, managing classroom behavior, and fostering a positive atmosphere that promotes growth and development for all students ages 0-5.

What You Will Do:
  • Assist in the implementation of lesson plans provided by the regular classroom teacher, ensuring continuity of instruction across subjects including social-emotional learning.
  • Manage classroom activities and behavior management strategies to create a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment.
  • Support children’s developmental needs through engaging activities aligned with early childhood education standards.
  • Collaborate with staff and communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding student progress or concerns.
  • Maintain classroom organization and cleanliness to promote a healthy learning space.
  • Document student participation and progress as required by school policies and procedures.
What You Will Bring:
  • Knowledge of early childhood development and best practices in preschool education is preferred.
  • Experience in classroom management techniques to foster positive behavior and engagement is preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively with children of varying abilities, including those with autism or in special education programs.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with colleagues, students, and families.
  • Previous classroom experience in private schools or preschool settings is highly desirable.
