Job summary

The Hockaday School is seeking a substitute teacher for its Child Development Center (CDC) in Dallas. The CDC serves children from 6 weeks to five years with small class sizes.

The substitute will support the team by following the approved lesson plan and caring for the children in a collaborative environment. Requirements include an Associate degree in child development or at least two years of childcare experience, plus current first aid and CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in child development or 2+ years of experience working with young children in childcare.
• Current first aid and CPR certification.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with children, families, and staff.
• Ability to follow detailed policies, training, and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Support children by following the CDC lesson plan and supervise safety and wellbeing.
• Assist with diapering, feeding, hand washing, and activities for ages 6 weeks to 5 years.
• Help maintain an organized classroom and assist with outside activities and routines.
• Follow Center policies and communicate needs to the CDC Director as required.
