Job summary

The Hockaday School in Dallas, TX is seeking a substitute teacher for our Child Development Center (CDC) serving children from 6 weeks to five years. The role emphasizes following established lesson plans, maintaining a safe, nurturing classroom, and collaborating with peers.

You will support emotional and social development, assist with meals and hygiene, and help organize activities while adhering to Center policies.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in child development or 2+ years in childcare.
• Current first aid and CPR certification required.
• Ability to relate to children and respect individuality.
• Willingness to complete required state background checks.

Responsibilities

• Abide by ethics and conduct; follow Center policies.
• Supervise and ensure safety and wellbeing of children.
• Support emotional and social development, and positive self concepts.
• Assist with diapering, meals, hygiene, and activities.
• Organize outside activities and keep classroom orderly.
• Attend trainings and staff meetings; follow handbook.
