Job summary

The Hockaday School is seeking an enthusiastic early childhood educator to join the Child Development Center. You will follow curriculum, supervise play, and actively engage children aged 12-24 months with nurturing care.

Requirements include an associate degree in child development or two years of relevant experience, current first aid/CPR, and the ability to work collaboratively with parents, staff, and administrators in a school setting.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in child development or at least two years of experience with young children.
• Obtain and maintain current first aid and CPR certification.
• Working knowledge of child development benchmarks and growth milestones.
• Able to relate to children and respect each child as an individual.
• Commitment to annual required training as per Texas state requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication, with colleagues, parents and students.

Responsibilities

• Supervise safety and wellbeing of children in a small class.
• Follow lesson plans, lead activities, and support curriculum daily tasks.
• Engage in hands-on activities, diapering, hand washing, singing and play.
• Assist with meals, rest periods, and classroom organization.
• Collaborate with CDC staff and School colleagues; communicate with Director as needed.
• Adhere to Center policies and safety procedures.
