  • Experience must meet the state or professional trade organization requirements.
  • Must possess a valid and clean driving record.

Summary of Position Functions:Provides engaging instruction, administers tests, and evaluates student progress, understanding, and proficiency in assigned field of Career and Technical Training.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provides students with industry-recognized instruction and training.
  • Develops and prepares lessons; recommends curricula changes and supplemental materials.
  • Administers and corrects tests; logs and maintains progress and attendance.
  • Identifies, selects, and modifies instructional resources to meet the needs of the students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs.
  • Manages the classroom by moving about the room to tutor, coach, evaluate, and assist each student as the need arises.
  • Motivates and counsels students in areas of behavior, training, personal problems, or study habits.
  • Evaluates and supervises students in an on-the-job training experience.
  • Participates in providing hands‑on activities for students in the career preparation program.

  • Ability to use different methods and mediums in delivering course materials
  • Ability to effectively respond to student issues as they arise
  • Must be proficient in the use of common computer software such as Microsoft Suite, Outlook, etc.
Educational Requirements & Experience:
  • Certified, licensed, or accredited by the State of NY, or by an accredited professional trade organization
