Job summary

Katy ISD Transportation in Houston, TX seeks a Substitute - Personal Care Attendant to support drivers in transporting students with special needs. You will assist during loading, unloading, and emergencies, ensuring safety and adherence to IEPs.

The role requires good health, the ability to follow instructions in English, and reliable attendance. You will work with the driver team to maintain safe, clean, and supportive transport for students on a split shift.

Qualifications

• Ability to understand and respond to verbal and written instructions in English
• Ability to work productively without continual supervision
• Interest in and empathy for Special Needs students

Responsibilities

• Follow IEP procedures for loading/unloading of students with special needs
• Assist in emergency evacuations and with mobility equipment as required
• Maintain good relations with students, parents, staff and drivers
• Attend route drive days to learn routes and student needs
• Participate in safety trainings and department in-service sessions
• Assist in pre-trip and post-trip inspections and bus interior cleanliness
