Job summary

The Folsom Cordova Unified School District is seeking a Bus Attendant to supervise and assist handicapped students during transportation to and from schools. You will help maintain order, support student needs, and ensure safety on the bus.

Prior experience with children is desirable; willingness to obtain First Aid/CPR; and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds are required. A background check and health screenings are part of the process.

• Under supervision, maintains order and attends to the needs and safety of handicapped students being transported to and from schools.
• Must obtain and maintain a First Aid/CPR Certificate (In-Person Training ONLY).
• DOJ and FBI Criminal Background Check; TB Test within the last 60 days; Complete mandated reporter training; Pre-Employment Physical Evaluation (minimum 50 pounds).

Distinguishing Characteristics

Understand and relate to the needs and behavior of exceptional children; make appropriatedecisions independently within the established rules and regulations; remain calm and actappropriately in stressful situations; follow oral and written instructions; establish and maintaineffective work relationships with those contacted in the course of performing duties; correctlydemonstrate sufficient strength, mobility, and range of motion to arm lift 50 pounds and floor lift 50pounds in an employee entrance evaluation; acquire and maintain a valid first aid and CPRcertificate within six months of employment.

Minimum Qualifications

Previous experience working with children, either volunteer or paid is desirable. Experience with exceptional children is also desirable.

Upon Conditional Offer of Employment:

• DOJ and FBI Criminal Background Check

• TB Test within the last 60 days (Education Code 49406, Assembly Bill 1667)

• Complete district Mandated Reporter training, Sexual Harassment, etc.

• Must obtain and maintain a First Aid/CPR Certificate (In-Person Training ONLY)

• Pre-Employment Physical Evaluation conducted through the District (Minimum 50 pounds)
