Job summary

Conway Christian School is seeking a substitute teacher to uphold a safe, orderly classroom in the absence of the regular instructor. You will implement lesson plans, assign work, and ensure discipline while maintaining accurate attendance and behavior records.

A strong Christian testimony and adherence to the school’s Community Statement are required. Ideal candidates will demonstrate biblical integrity, flexibility, and a willingness to mentor and be mentored within a faith-centered school

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and 3 years of related experience.
• Must provide a clear Christian testimony and accept the school’s Community Statement.
• Lifestyle of biblical integrity and witness as defined by the school’s Community Statement.
• Willingness to dedicate, commit, remain flexible and responsive to school leadership.
• Ability to listen and respond to counsel from peers and authority.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe learning environment and follow all school policies.
• Report to office on arrival; check for materials and notes from the absent teacher.
• Present an organized classroom in the absence of the regular teacher.
• Implement lesson plans, assign class work, and maintain discipline and order.
• Maintain daily records of attendance and behavior as required.
• Maintain confidentiality of student and school personnel information.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the principal.

Education LevelHigh School## Description**Duties and Responsibilities:**Maintain a safe learning environment within your assigned classroom following all school policies and regular classroom teacher’s rules.Report to office upon arrival at school; check mailbox of absent teacher for materials requiring immediate attention; request clarification of school rules and procedures, if necessary. Give instruction and present an organized classroom environment to enhance learning during the absence of the regular classroom teacher.Implement teacher lesson plans, give out class work and assignments and ensure effective discipline and class control.Maintain daily records by documenting attendance and behavior to give an account of any information pertaining to the events of the day.Maintain and respect confidentiality of student and school personnel information.Other duties assigned by principal.**Physical and Mental Requirements:**The employee must speak English fluently and have the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Employee must be able to hear sounds at reasonable level.The employee’s work requires standing and/or walking for extended periods of time and the ability to stoop, crouch, or kneel is required to assist smaller children.Environment is primarily indoors in a heated and cooled classroom however some activities may take place outdoors in extreme heat or cold.
