Job summary

WECTEC Staffing Services is seeking a Construction Manager (Substation & Transmission) on behalf of Westinghouse for a 1-year, W-2 contract near Abilene, TX. The CM leads field construction, coordinates with safety, scheduling, QA/QC, and ensures compliance with contracts and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities include pre-construction prep, site assessment, scope execution, schedule management, material control, safety leadership, field oversight, reporting, and cost tracking.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of drawings (plan reading).
• Knowledge of safety/environmental requirements.
• Proficiency with computers and software used in construction management.

Responsibilities

• Pre-Construction preparation: review contract documents, safety plans, and kickoff meetings.
• Site assessment: identify site, access constraints, permits, and regulatory considerations.
• Scope execution: review drawings/specs, define structures and equipment, plan demolition if needed.
• Schedule management: monitor milestones, ensure adherence, escalate delays.
• Material management: track BOM, deliveries, and inventory; verify specs.
• Environmental & safety: ensure permits comply and enforce HASP.
• Field oversight: conduct daily walkdowns, QA, and progress documentation.
• Reporting: prepare weekly reports and trackers; manage team reporting.
• Contract management: ensure compliance and address non-conformances.
