Job summary

TRC Companies, Inc. is seeking a Testing & Commissioning Technician I to support our client in the South-Central region of the US. You will test and calibrate substation relays, control systems, and voltage regulation equipment, and plan testing activities to maintain service continuity.

The role requires knowledge of three-phase power systems, protection schemes, and proficiency with test equipment. A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent testing experience.
• Experience with substation relays, protection schemes, and control systems.
• Ability to learn and apply test procedures for various equipment.
• Knowledge of three-phase power systems and related software.
• Proficient with test equipment and basic PC tasks.

Responsibilities

• Test and maintain substation relays, control systems, and voltage regulation equipment.
• Calibrate protective relays and set according to standards.
• Program Load Tap Changing (LTC) and voltage regulator controllers.
• Troubleshoot and repair substation relays and control devices.
• Plan and execute testing activities, meeting schedules and ensuring service continuity.
• Document testing procedures, results, and equipment configurations.
