National Grid plc in Liverpool, NY is seeking a Substation Worker C to install, maintain and operate substation equipment across transmission and distribution systems. The role offers a starting wage of $53.86 per hour plus a benefits package including medical, dental, life insurance, a 401(k) plan, vacation, tuition assistance and more.

Under supervision, you will lead a crew or work solo on tasks such as switching operations, equipment testing, and training junior personnel.

Qualificações

• Electrical or mechanical Journeyman certification preferred, will need to provide proof of completion of apprentice program or equivalent.
• A minimum of three years’ experience with diverse types of energized and de-energized substation equipment, rubber gloving, climbing and electrical operating procedure skills is preferred.
• Subject to the Memorandum of Agreement Regarding Residency, live within 35 miles of posting location.
• Must demonstrate sufficient computer and technology abilities.
• Must possess a thorough knowledge of equipment, standards and practices applicable to this type of work, and have a working knowledge of fundamental theory relating thereto.
• Ability to read and thoroughly understand complicated electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic/hydraulic diagrams and construction prints.
• Must be able to perform strenuous work including work at elevated heights and confined spaces.
• Must be able to operate all equipment such as aerial lifts, boom trucks, fork trucks, and articulating lifts, backhoes, and other equipment associated with construction and maintenance.
• A NYS CDL Class A (restricted) or higher, or ability to obtain one within 6 months.
• OSHA crane certification, or ability to obtain one
• Must pass physical abilities examination.
• Must pass validated aptitude test.
• Must have a high school diploma or GED
• Valid driver’s license required with a safe driving history that meets National Grid’s Safe Driver policy.
