Job summary

5 Star Electric, LLC (5 Star) seeks a Substation Tech – A Class to install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring and substation equipment. You will read blueprints, install structure components, inspect equipment, and ensure conformity with the National Electric Code.

Field duties include outdoor work, leadership of crew, and safety-focused operations. Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent, and possess a valid Class A CDL with a current medical examiner card, plus pass

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and/or Apprenticeship preferred but not required.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State Driver License is required.
• Must have a Valid Class A CDL and current medical examiner card.
• Candidates must pass criminal and MVR background checks and pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Safety performance standards compliance and ability to work outdoors in diverse conditions.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints or technical diagrams.
• Install and maintain wiring, control, and lighting systems.
• Inspect electrical components, transformers, and circuit breakers.
• Repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures using hand tools and power tools.
• Direct and train workers to install, maintain, or repair substation structures and equipment.
• Follow state and local building regulations based on the National Electric Code.
• Ability to lead the crew safely and productively according to company standards.
