Burns & McDonnell in Kansas City seeks an Assistant Electrical Designer to support planning, design and documentation of electrical systems across diverse project types. Assist with schematics, grid layouts, lighting, and power systems within standard CAD practices.

The role involves 2D/3D CAD work, drawing production, code compliance, and collaboration with engineers and project managers to meet schedules and budgets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or associate degree with related drafting/design experience.
• 4 years progressive detailing and design experience.
• Strong knowledge of AutoCAD, MicroStation and Excel.
• Ability to use 2D/3D design applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work in a multi-discipline team.

Responsabilités

• Assist in creating electrical schematics, grid layouts, lighting and power systems.
• Prepare engineering drawings from rough sketches using CAD.
• Produce drawing sets within scope, budget and schedule.
• Organize revisions and project documentation.
• Follow design codes and specifications.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers and designers.
