Job summary

Saber Power Services in Houston, TX is seeking a Structural Engineer II to perform design and analysis of high‑voltage substation structures, foundations, and related facilities. You will develop detailed calculations, drawings, and material take‑offs, and coordinate with multi‑discipline teams while mentoring junior staff.

The role requires a Civil/Structural ABET‑accredited degree, a PE license or plan to obtain within one year, and at least four years of structural design experience,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from ABET‑accredited program.
• PE license or ability to obtain within one year of hire.
• Four years of structural design experience; substation/utility projects preferred.
• Proficiency in structural analysis and steel/concrete design principles.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, STAAD.Pro or RISA.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze substation steel structures, equipment foundations, cable trench systems, and control buildings.
• Prepare detailed design calculations, drawings, and material take-offs.
• Apply load combinations including wind, seismic, and electrical equipment loads per applicable codes.
• Coordinate design activities with multidiscipline project teams and external stakeholders.
• Review vendor drawings and submittals for structural compliance.
• Provide limited technical support during procurement and construction.
• Mentor junior engineers and drafters as assigned.
• Perform other job-related duties as requested by management.
