Job summary

HDR is seeking a Substation Structural EIT/Coordinator in Saint Louis Park, MN. You will support site studies, layout, drainage and contract documentation for civil/site projects within our Power group.

You’ll work with senior engineers, manage small projects, and handle project administration with a focus on quality and safety. Required qualifications include a Master’s in Structural Engineering and proficiency with MicroStation, AutoCAD, and related civil engineering software.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Structural Engineering
• Master's degree required; EIT progression encouraged for career progression
• Familiarity with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD, familiarity with civil engineering software such as Bentley ConceptStation and/or Autodesk Infraworks and Civil 3D; specialty civil platforms (e.g., Openflows) as required

Responsibilities

• Assist the Senior Engineer with site studies, site designs, contract documentation preparation and graphic presentation
• Perform overall site layout, grading, utility layout and drainage
• Perform routine engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures
• Complete projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variables
• Perform administrative duties associated with project management for civil/site projects
• Work independently on small projects, or assist more-senior engineers on larger projects
• Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Structural Engineering
• Candidates hired without their EIT will have the title of "Coordinator" and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression.
• Familiarity with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD, familiarity and demonstrated experience with civil engineering software such as Bentley ConceptStation and/or Autodesk Infraworks and Civil 3D; specialty civil platforms (e.g., Openflows) as required
