Job summary

Linxon is seeking a Site Quality Installation Inspector to oversee electrical, mechanical, and civil installation activities on complex substations. You will enforce QA/QC standards, review IFC drawings, and coordinate with field teams to ensure safe, compliant installations from start to turnover.

You will identify risks, document non-conformances, and drive timely corrective actions, contributing to successful commissioning and client acceptance at critical utility projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent.
• CQI certification preferred.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification required.
• NICET in Electrical Power Testing or Construction preferred.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in civil/electrical construction focused on substations.
• Experience with QA/QC programs in HV/MV systems and utility environments.
• Ability to interpret complex drawings, schematics, specs with accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site inspections of electrical, mechanical, structural, and civil installations.
• Inspect electrical equipment installations including transformers, breakers, panels, grounding, and bonding for compliance.
• Verify foundations, rebar, concrete pours, soil compaction, and helical piles for quality.
• Ensure work aligns with IFC drawings, ITPs, method statements, and procedures.
• Verify workmanship, tolerances, and acceptance criteria before moving to next phase.
• Identify inconsistencies, deficiencies, and quality risks early in construction.
• Enforce compliance with NEC/NFPA 70, IEEE, NEMA, OSHA, and project specs.
• Prepare and maintain inspection reports, punch lists, NCRs, and turnover documents.
• Coordinate with construction supervisors, engineering, clients, and inspectors to align expectations.
• Provide real-time field guidance and drive corrective actions as needed.
• Support commissioning readiness and client turnover.
