Job summary

Hitachi Energy in Raleigh, NC seeks a Specialist – Service Bids and Proposals to craft technical and commercial service proposals for substation automation opportunities. You will analyze customer specs, generate bids, and prepare long-term service agreements with cost estimates and pricing details.

Requires a BS in Electrical/ET/CE, 3+ years of proposal experience, and strong English writing; knowledge of Spanish/French a plus. Experience with SCADA and substation automation is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Electronic, or Communications Engineering preferred.
• 3+ years preparing technical and commercial service proposals.
• 5+ years in electrical power systems, substation or power automation preferred.
• Experience with SCADA and Substation Automation bid prep desirable.
• Knowledge of electrical power and industrial system applications.
• Understanding of Incoterms and commercial terms.
• Excellent technical English writing; Spanish or French a plus.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Salesforce.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare technical and commercial service proposals for substation systems.
• Follow the proposals process flow and document each stage.
• Review customer specifications to compile bid information.
• Use internal systems for proposal generation and data storage.
• Prepare long-term service agreements covering spares and audits.
• Complete cost estimates for new bids and contract changes.
• Develop commercial agreements and pricing spreadsheets; coordinate legal reviews.
• Support monthly reports and update marketing databases.
