Job summary

Entergy Louisiana, LLC is seeking a Relay Technician I-Sr to perform routine and emergency maintenance on substation protective relaying and control equipment, and to install new equipment in a safety-conscious environment.

The role requires strong electrical knowledge, ability to read diagrams, and willingness to work flexible hours, including 24-hour callouts. Valid TWIC and related certifications may be advantageous.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read electrical one-line diagrams, schematics and wiring diagrams, manuals and instruction books.
  • Understanding of protective relaying concepts and AC/DC power systems.
  • Knowledge of electronics, computer logic, microprocessors and programmable logic.
  • Completion of required Safety and Training modules.
  • Preferred: knowledge of protective relaying/SCADA/communications/substation equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and emergency maintenance on substation relay systems and control equipment.
  • Test and troubleshoot protection, control, and communications equipment.
  • Install relays and relay panels, wire termination, commissioning and testing.
  • Follow switching and grounding procedures and safety rules.
  • Be available for 24-hour callout and extended hours.
