Job summary

Entergy Louisiana, LLC seeks a Relay Technician in West Monroe, LA to support transmission and substation protection systems.

Under supervision, you will install, test, calibrate relays, and perform SCADA/RTU programming. You may construct panels, assist switching operations, and travel for support as required. This is a safety-sensitive role with pre-employment and random drug testing.

Qualifications

• Preferred: 2-year technical degree in Electrical or Computer Technology.
• 0-2 years of experience without Associates Degree.
• 0-1 years of experience with Associates Degree.
• 2-4 years of experience without Associates Degree.
• 1-3 years of experience with Associates Degree.
• 4 years of experience without Associates Degree.
• 3 years of experience with Associates Degree.
• 6 years of electrical/electronics/metering/controls experience without Associates Degree.
• 5 years of experience with Associates Degree.
• Must have switching certification.
• EEI TECH test required.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, test, troubleshoot, repair, alter, remove, or replace equipment for protection, operation, or maintenance of circuit breakers, voltage regulators, transformers, generators and related facilities.
• Check new and existing relay/control installations in substations for correct operation.
• Construct relay panels and control switchboards for new or modified equipment.
• Plan and perform switching operations for substation maintenance.
• Participate in safety meetings and training.
• Be available for after-hours callouts and travel to other territories as needed.
