Job summary

Peninsula Light Company seeks an Electrical Engineer specializing in Substations and Distribution grid operations with emphasis on Protection and Controls and SCADA integration. You will design, test and deploy power system solutions to improve reliability and safety.

Responsibilities include ADMS/SCADA/HMI management, project oversight, and regulatory compliance, with strong focus on documentation and collaboration with multiple departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required; Master’s preferred.
• Four years’ electric utility work experience in operations and engineering preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license desirable.
• Proven experience in electrical substation engineering—protection, controls, and ADMS/SCADA.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, maintain and troubleshoot protection schemes for substations.
• Develop and optimize control systems to enhance grid stability and fault detection.
• Manage ADMS/SCADA/Substation HMI systems for real-time monitoring and control.
• Oversee maintenance and testing of relays, circuit breakers, and switches.
• Lead substation upgrade projects and ensure integration of protection, controls, SCADA.
• Maintain compliance with IEEE/NERC/ANSI standards and regulatory requirements.
• Create technical documentation and reports for management and regulatory purposes.
