Job summary

Nexus Engineering Group in Columbus, OH seeks a Substation Engineer – Protection & Controls. You will develop protection, control, and wiring design for high-voltage substations, advancing from production support toward independent design.

You’ll produce single-line and three-line diagrams, schematics, and wiring documentation including protective relaying and SCADA/automation. You will work with a collaborative team, grow your ownership, and travel to project sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years in substation, power delivery, or electrical design.
• Proficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD/AutoCAD Electrical).

Responsibilities

• Develop and revise single-line and three-line diagrams, schematics, and wiring docs.
• Build and maintain cable/conduit lists, nameplates, and client documentation.
• Assist the project lead in developing protection and control documentation.
• Support protective relaying, SCADA/RTU, and automation interfaces within scope.
