Job summary

The United Illuminating Company is seeking a Substation Projects Engineer - Protection & Control in Orange, CT. You’ll lead protection and control designs for major capital projects and ensure compliance with applicable standards.

Responsibilities include detailed engineering, schematics review, and coordination with project managers. Requires a BS in engineering and 2 years in power systems; on-site work in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering required.
• 2 years of Power Systems Electrical Engineering experience (Protection & Control preferred).
• Knowledge of national and international standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Project detailed engineering, designs and calculations across all project phases.
• Maintain and understand drawings (schematics, one-line diagrams).
• Develop & specify equipment and assemble project documents.
• Ensure designs meet codes, standards, and contract requirements.
• Collaborate across departments; work independently as needed.
