Job summary

The United Illuminating Company in Orange, CT is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a team responsible for the design, analysis, and construction of electric distribution projects. You will guide engineers, coordinate with planning and field teams, and ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline required.
• Advanced engineering degree preferred.
• 10 years of experience in electrical engineering.
• Completion of Engineer-in-Training (EIT) examination.
• Professional Engineer license is desired.

Responsibilities

• Manage and provide technical guidance to direct and monitor the performance of an engineering team.
• Review or oversee design concepts, alternate solutions, and action plans for the distribution system.
• Set clear expectations for the team aligned with strategy and ensure delivery.
• Promote cross functional teamwork and safety within projects.
• Represent Distribution Engineering on project teams and coordinate with other departments.
