Job summary

Dominion Energy Virginia's Electric Transmission-Substation Engineering is seeking an engaged student for Summer 2027 to join the Protection & Control (P&C) Design Team. Work with engineers, technicians, and project managers on protection and control design packages for substations across the grid.

You will gain exposure to scope-to-construction processes, receive mentoring, attend site visits, and complete a summer project linking academics to utility operations.

Qualifications

• Foundational understanding of electrical circuits and engineering principles.
• Interest in electric power systems, substations, protection and control, or energy infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design packages for substation projects.
• Learn how designs progress from scope through construction and energization.
• Support safety, reliability, quality, and constructability through engineering decisions.
• Receive mentoring and participate in site visits and networking opportunities.
