Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Boise, Idaho seeks a Project Manager in our Transmission & Distribution practice to lead substation design projects from 12-kV to 500-kV, directing scope, schedule, and budget. You will oversee the project lifecycle from concept to closeout, coordinating with owners and regulators and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

This full-time role requires exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities, with a willingness to travel up to 50%

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• 7 years of applicable project management experience.
• Experience on construction or program management in relevant industries.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software.

Responsibilities

• Prepare proposals and participate in contract negotiations.
• Manage projects from concept to completion including scheduling, budgeting, and controls.
• Develop schedules, manage scope, and control costs.
• Coordinate with owners, subcontractors, and regulators.
• Ensure QA/QC compliance and client satisfaction.
• Report progress, costs, and schedule metrics.
