Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Substation Project Engineer in the United States (Washington state regions) to lead design efforts and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams. You will interact with clients, manage technical directions, and ensure project outcomes meet high standards.

As an employee-owner, you’ll contribute to design development, code compliance, and on-site sessions, while mentoring staff and guiding project execution from concept to completion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering.
• 10+ years of substation design experience.
• PE license recognized by state licensing board.
• Experience with substation yard layouts, grounding, lighting, control buildings, raceways, BOMs.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate work of design engineers and multi-discipline team.
• Establish client relations and participate in meetings.
• Act as technical lead within project execution team.
• Participate in code compliance reviews with agencies.
• Lead schematic, design development and contract document sessions on site.
• Coordinate workload to complete deliverables on schedule.
• Mentor other staff and coordinate project reviews.
