Job summary

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. is seeking a Substation Studies Engineer in Denver to perform power system analyses for transmission and distribution substations. You will develop and validate models, run technical studies, and provide recommendations for reliable operation.

The role requires 4+ years in power system studies, proficiency with ETAP/SKM/PSCAD, and a PE license or eligibility. Hybrid work model with travel across North America is available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Minimum 4 years of direct experience with power system studies.
• Experience with ETAP, SKM and PSCAD or equivalents.

Responsibilities

• Perform power system studies including load flow, short-circuit, insulation coordination, and protection coordination studies.
• Develop and review power system models to support planning, design, operation, and expansion of substations.
• Support substation design by validating equipment ratings, specifications, and technical requirements.
• Prepare technical reports and present study results to stakeholders.
• Support studies projects through the lifecycle from proposal to close-out.
• Collaborate with North America and global team members.
