Job summary

K&A Power Group in Plainfield, IN is seeking a Planner II to join our team on exciting substation projects. You will develop detailed work plans, schedule maintenance and construction activities, and coordinate crews, materials, and contractors to keep work on track.

Applicants should have an associate degree or equivalent, plus 2+ years in utility planning or related fields, strong organizational skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent experience required.
• 2+ years planning experience in utility operations.
• Experience with substation maintenance/construction planning.
• Ability to coordinate crews, materials, and contractors.
• Familiarity with utility work management systems.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed work plans and project schedules for substation maintenance and construction activities.
• Coordinate labor, materials, equipment, and contractor resources to support planned work.
• Ensure all work packages are complete, accurate, and ready for execution.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering, construction, and field personnel to identify work scope and planning requirements.
• Review drawings, specifications, procedures, and work instructions to support project execution.
• Track project and maintenance activities, providing updates on schedule, resource needs, and potential risks.
• Support outage planning and coordination activities as required.
• Identify opportunities to improve planning processes, work efficiency, and resource utilization.
• Maintain compliance with company policies, safety requirements, and regulatory standards.
• Attend weekly team meetings at the Plainfield headquarters location.
