Kimley-Horn's Plymouth Meeting, PA office is seeking a Substation Physical Designer with 4+ years of experience to join the Power Delivery team. This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities include developing physical layouts, equipment arrangements, grounding systems, and construction drawing packages for HV/MV substations. You will collaborate across disciplines, perform calculations, and contribute to proposals.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in substation design.
• Associates degree in engineering or drafting preferred.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, MicroStation and Inventor.
• Experience with grounding, lightning protection, and lighting studies.

Responsabilités

• Support the design and execution of HV and MV substation projects for utilities, renewables, and industrial clients.
• Develop physical layouts, equipment arrangements, grounding systems, and construction drawing packages.
• Coordinate with protection and control, civil, structural, and electrical disciplines.
• Lead technical reviews and develop bills of materials for substations.
• Provide guidance and training to junior engineers and designers.
