Job summary

Kimley-Horn's Plymouth Meeting, PA office is seeking a Substation Physical Design Engineer with 4+ years of experience to join the Power Delivery team. This is not a remote position and will require on-site work in Plymouth Meeting, PA.

The successful candidate will design high-voltage and medium-voltage substations, develop layouts, grounding, lighting protection, and construction drawing packages, while coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of relevant engineering experience in substation design.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license preferred or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, MicroStation and Inventor; grounding and protection studies experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform conceptual and detailed HV/MV substation physical/electrical design including layouts, electrical arrangements, one-line diagrams and grounding.
• Perform engineering studies and calculations.
• Review quality of substation physical design projects and lead technical work on projects with limited guidance.
• Create and review bills of materials for substation projects and develop scopes of work for smaller projects.
• Plan and lead client meetings and provide technical guidance to less experienced engineers.
