Kimley-Horn's Orlando office seeks a Substation Physical Design Engineer with 4+ years of experience to join the Power Delivery team. You will design HV/MV substations, develop physical layouts, grounding and protection interfaces, and produce construction drawing packages in collaboration with multi-discipline teams.

Ideal candidates bring strong technical skills, familiarity with substation design standards, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of relevant engineering experience in substation design.
• Familiarity with HV/MV substations and industry standards is required.
• Strong teamwork and communication across disciplines.

Responsabilités

• Perform conceptual and detailed HV and MV substation physical/electrical design.
• Develop layouts, grounding, lightning protection, and drawings.
• Lead technical reviews and provide guidance to junior engineers.
• Create BOMs and coordinate with protection, civil, and structural teams.
• Plan client meetings and contribute to proposals and scopes.
