Pike Engineering seeks a substation CAD designer to support transmission projects. Responsibilities include reading and drafting complex substation designs up to 500kV, including foundations, grounding, and bus layouts, with supervision.

The role emphasizes coordination with protection/control and civil teams, plus on-site problem solving. Candidates should have 0–2 years of CAD experience and solid AutoCAD or MicroStation skills to contribute to safe, compliant, and cost-effective design

Qualifications

0-2 years experience in CAD 2D and 3D design.
Proven AutoCAD and/or Microstation skills.

Responsabilités

Read and interpret substation designs through 500kV, including layouts, foundations, grounding, and bus details.
Understand installation of HV transformers, disconnects, breakers, and related equipment; draft sections/details.
Create/understand grounding designs under supervision.
Interpret written specifications and apply them to drawings.
Coordinate with protection/control and civil/structural teams on field connections, foundations and drainage.
Check designs for accuracy, appearance, and adherence to standards.
Collaborate with different design disciplines and communicate effectively.
Visit job sites to resolve issues during engineering/construction.
