Job summary

DTE Energy is seeking candidates for substation operator roles in our energy network. The position involves maintenance, cleaning, and inspections under supervision, with progressive training in relay applications and station operation.

Successful applicants will complete the substation field training program and meet CAST requirements, with a valid driver's license and ability to work shifts, overtime, and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED with math coursework.
• Associate's degree in EE/engineering tech required; BS in EE preferred.
• Minimum three years experience as Fuel Supply Equipment Operator or Power Plant Operator.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and cleaning under supervision by a Supervisor and work direction of a Substation Operator.
• Assist with substation and station inspections and report conditions.
• Study prints, attend formal classes, progressively learn operation of station/substation and relay applications.
• Receive training and progressively learn duties of a Reserve Substation Operator.
