Job summary

Bird Electric Enterprises is seeking a Groundman to assist skilled substation craft workers on electrical power project sites in South Carolina. Candidates perform manual tasks, use hand and power tools, and help with cable and conduit installation under supervision.

The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and readiness to perform a variety of site duties, often in demanding outdoor conditions. Training and onboarding are provided as part of the project team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 0–2 years of experience as a laborer or construction helper.
• Must be at least 18 years old and able to pass pre-employment checks.

Responsibilities

• Learn to use hand tools (hammer, screwdriver, sledge) and power tools (grinders, etc.) to perform a variety of tasks.
• Assist with digging, trenching, material handling, and setting braces.
• Follow safety programs, identify hazards, and stop work if needed.
• Coordinate with other crafts and team members to complete tasks.
• Perform additional duties as required by supervision.
