Job summary

VetJobs is seeking a Groundman to start a rewarding career in underground electrical distribution work in Rock Hill, SC. You will assist the crew under a Foreman, performing excavation, installation, repair, and safety-focused tasks.

Outdoor, physically demanding work in varied conditions is expected, with overtime and on-call rotations. A High School diploma or GED is required and a CDL may be pursued within 60 days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license with ability to obtain CDL within 60 days.
• Willing to travel long distances on short notice.
• Lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work.
• Willing to work outside normal hours including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform new construction, maintain and repair underground distribution systems while putting safety first.
• Help install and repair underground facilities, underground conductors, and related hardware.
• Maintain excavation equipment including backhoes, trenchers, excavators, and pulling equipment.
• Work outdoors in varying environmental conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, wind and storms.
• Available to work outages, emergencies, and on-call rotations.
• Follow safety protocols including PPE use and insulation procedures to isolate differences of potential.
