Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking an entry-level Electrical Engineer to join our Substation Engineering team. Westwood has a highly experienced and dynamic team of individuals dedicated to providing high-level professional services to our clients.
• Responsible for protection and control design for utility-scale substations for power delivery, solar, and wind applications.
• Prepare reports, specifications, and drawing packages.
• Review and approve project submittals, RFIs, and support field activities during construction.
• Provide professional and technical support to multiple Westwood projects.
• Support and contribute to internal and external Project Managers on a daily basis.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited college.
• Familiarity with applicable codes and standards (IEEE, ANSI, NESC).
• Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
• Effective verbal communication and technical writing skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to check the quality of own and others’ work.
• Sound engineering judgment.
• Effective time and workload management, including planning, organizing, and prioritizing.
• Minimal travel required.
• 1-2 years of relevant experience.
• EIT/FE certification or the ability to obtain it within one year.
• Experience with developing one lines, schematics, wiring diagrams, and cable schedules.
• Experience with load, voltage drop, and conduit fill calculations.
• Experience in developing equipment and construction specifications.
• Drafting experience with AutoCAD and MicroStation is a plus.
