Job summary

Overland Contracting Inc is seeking a Substation Journeyman to direct and supervise HV substation wiring, fixtures, motors, and related systems in generating stations and substations. You will coordinate craft workers, ensure safety, and adhere to plans and standards throughout installation, testing and maintenance.

The role requires strong knowledge of electrical and civil standards, leadership, and ability to work with multiple trades.

Qualifications

• Must have working experience as a Substation Journeyman or equivalent.
• Strong working knowledge of the project specifications and high voltage electrical and civil industry standards.
• Must have working knowledge of electrical substation components, auto‑level and transit for lay‑out and verification of finished grades, fabrication and erection of forms, and rebar.
• Must set standards of excellence in leadership, safety and productivity for the crew.
• Must have all necessary tools and be at least 18 years old and able to complete onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise craft workers on HV substation work
• Lead safety programs and ensure zero injuries
• Coordinate with supervision and other crafts on site
• Review timecards for correct hours and phase coding
• Ensure conformance to plans, specs, and industry standards
• Attend toolbox meetings and communicate safety concerns
