Job summary

Irby Construction Company in Tulsa, OK, is seeking a Substation Estimator to develop accurate cost estimates and competitive bids for electrical substation projects. You will review drawings, specs, BOMs, and schedules while coordinating with estimating leadership, engineering, procurement, and field teams to deliver well-supported estimates for utility clients.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in construction management or engineering and at least 3 years of direct substation estimating

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience.
• minimum 3 years direct substation construction estimating experience.
• Ability to interpret substation drawings, specifications, material lists and scopes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for substation projects.
• Develop labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, and indirect cost estimates.
• Review drawings, specs, and bid documents for requirements and exclusions.
• Coordinate with project teams to validate quantities and approaches.
• Develop pricing for foundations, grounding, buswork, transformers, and switchgear.
• Solicit supplier and subcontractor quotations and verify scope coverage.
