Job summary

Pike Electric, LLC is seeking an entry-level Substation Equipment Operator to assist in construction, maintenance, and repair of electric substation systems. The role involves operating and learning to operate a range of heavy equipment and requires 90% travel to various sites.

The position prioritizes safety, reading blueprints, and understanding electrical hazards. Candidates should be able to perform rigorous physical labor and eventually hold a Commercial Drivers’ License.

Qualifications

• Able to perform rigorous physical labor.
• Able to read and understand simple blueprints, maps, and diagrams.
• Knowledge of safety hazards when around energized lines and equipment.
• Capable of traveling to other states as required by assignments.
• Must possess or be capable of obtaining a Commercial Drivers’ License.

Responsibilities

• Perform construction, maintenance and/or repair work on electric substation systems.
• Assist in transporting, installing, and removing substation structures, equipment and hardware.
• Operate or learn to operate heavy equipment (bucket/derrick trucks, backhoes, excavators, skid steers, man-lifts).
• Read and interpret blueprints, maps or written instructions for tasks.
• Maintain company vehicles in good working condition.
• Adhere to company safety rules and policies in all tasks.
