Job summary

Pike Electric, LLC is seeking an entry-level Substation Equipment Operator to support construction, maintenance and repair of substation systems. This role requires traveling to Florida and other states as needed, and performing rigorous physical labor with various heavy equipment.

Candidates should understand basic electrical concepts, be able to read simple blueprints, maps, and diagrams, and possess a CDL or be able to obtain one. Safety and reliability are essential in this field.

Qualifications

• Capable of performing rigorous physical labor in outdoor conditions.
• Able to read simple blueprints, maps, and diagrams to complete tasks.
• Identify energized high and low voltage lines and understand basic electricity.
• Knowledge of safety hazards when near energized equipment and lines.
• Must possess or obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).

Responsibilities

• Perform safe construction, maintenance and repair work on substation systems.
• Assist in transporting, installation and removal of substation structures and equipment.
• Operate heavy equipment such as bucket trucks, backhoes, and loaders as trained.
• Read and interpret written instructions, blueprints and maps for tasks.
• Maintain company vehicles and follow safety rules on site.
• Work overtime or long hours during emergencies; travel up to 90% as required.
