Job summary

Metric Geo seeks an experienced Technical Project Engineering Manager to lead the Power Delivery substation design efforts for major investor-owned utility projects. You will guide technical delivery, mentor multidisciplinary teams, and serve as the primary technical contact with clients throughout the project lifecycle.

The role emphasizes safety, quality, on-time delivery, and strong client relationships, with an in-office start and a later 9/80 flexible schedule in Bloomington, MN area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred) or Structural Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred.
• Proven experience delivering large transmission and substation projects for an engineering consulting firm serving investor-owned utilities.
• Strong background in Substation Physical Design and Protection & Control (P&C).
• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Previous project lead experience with exposure to project schedules, budgets, and resource management.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and client-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical execution of substation engineering projects for major IOU clients.
• Take ownership of project deliverables, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
• Provide technical leadership and direction to multidisciplinary engineering teams, including Substation Physical Design and P&C.
• Work closely with the assigned Project Manager to manage project scope, schedules, budgets, resource allocation, and client expectations.
• Coordinate engineering disciplines to ensure seamless project execution and successful client outcomes.
• Support project planning, technical reviews, risk management, and quality assurance throughout the project lifecycle.
• Foster strong client relationships while maintaining a high level of technical excellence.
