Pacific Gas and Electric Company in Fresno is seeking a Supervisor of Substation Engineering & Design to lead a multi-disciplinary team delivering high-quality substation designs on time and within budget. You will collaborate with Project Management to balance scope, schedule, and cost while promoting safety and process discipline.

The role requires strong leadership, extensive engineering experience in substations, and familiarity with PG&E design standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Finance or equivalent.
5 years of engineering experience, including some electric substation and transmission line engineering.

Responsibilities

Supervise and lead a team of 15-18 Project Engineers, Design Engineers, Design Drafters and Engineering Assistants.
Promote safe work practices in line with PG&E’s safety standards.
Ensure a safe environment and communicate objectives; coach and lead staff to align with company goals.
Foster understanding of Substation Engineering in supporting scope, schedule, and costs.
Remove hurdles that impact project support success.
Plan and maintain production schedules with teams and Project Management.
Make timely decisions on internal work and contracted work.
Encourage teamwork and adoption of new technologies to improve performance.
