Lower Colorado River Authority is seeking a substation electrician to join our internal construction team in Texas. You will build electrical substations, read blueprints, and collaborate with skilled professionals while traveling across Central Texas, with travel accommodations provided.

Qualifications

  • Two or more years of experience in maintenance and/or construction of electrical power, transmission, distribution, substation and control equipment, and/or other electrical equipment.
  • Degree(s) in electrical power theory, electronics, instrumentation, controls, industrial maintenance or relevant field may substitute for experience per LCRA guidelines.
  • Class A Texas commercial driver's license is required.

  • Read blueprints, consult manuals, parts lists and keep drawings and schematics up-to-date and accurate.

How You’ll Contribute
  • Build electrical substations using construction skills and specialized tools.

How You’re Qualified
  • Two or more years of experience in maintenance and/or construction of electrical power, transmission, distribution, substation and control equipment, and/or other types of electrical equipment, including experience reading blueprints.
  • A degree(s) in electrical power theory, electronics, instrumentation, controls, industrial maintenance or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
  • Class A Texas commercial driver's license
How You’ll Stand Out
  • Hands-on substation construction skills: operating heavy equipment, installing conduit/cable, constructing steel structures, crane operations, terminating conductors.
